A Life of Love, Style, and Connection.
For Katerina, life has always been about connection—whether through family, career, or community. At 47, she carries with her a deep appreciation for the bonds that shape her world. Growing up with two brothers in a close-knit Greek family, she was raised with love, laughter, and the guiding wisdom of her parents, who once owned restaurants in Athens before settling in Canada. Though they have both passed, their presence is felt in the traditions she holds dear—especially her mother’s simple yet profound mantra: “Eat the bread.” To Katerina, it’s a daily reminder to savour life’s little moments.
Her journey in love has been just as meaningful. Sixteen years ago, fate (and perhaps a bit of persistence) had led her to Andy outside the Social Club in Victoria. It wasn’t exactly love at first sight, but as the years unfolded, so did a beautiful partnership. Engaged for the past five years, they’ve built a life rich with shared memories and laughter. Professionally, Katerina has spent over two decades making others feel beautiful—inside and out. Armed with a medical aesthetics diploma from the Canadian Optic and Laser Clinic and 13 additional certifications, she’s mastered the art of self-care and confidence.
From working in well-known salons like Anna’s Hair Design to launching her medispa, Beam Beauty and Wellness Centre, her career has been a fulfilling journeyof artistry and transformation. Fashion has also played a starring role in her life. As a former fashion stylist for local ads and the founder of her online consignment business, Kats Klothes, Katerina thrives in spaces where creativity meets personal expression.
But perhaps her most beloved “clients” are waiting for her at home—her three furry companions, Percy, Panda, and Pablo. Each with their distinct personality, they keep her entertained, whether it’s Percy basking in the sun, Panda’s boundless energy filling the room, or Pablo’s mischievous antics kept everyone on their toes.
For the past 11 years, Katerina has found peace and community in the Highlands. Drawn to the area for its serene beauty, it perfectly balances her busy, people- filled career. She’s deeply involved in a women’s small business group, where she and fellow entrepreneurs uplift and support each other—a testament to her belief in the power of connection.
Despite her culinary roots—her father was an executive chef at the Union Club for 20 years, Katerina
never quite mastered the art of cooking. Instead, she happily enjoys delicious, pre-prepared meals from Balanced Meal Prep, proving that sometimes, convenience is the most incredible luxury.
Travel is another passion, and while the demands of running a business have kept her close to home, she still reminisces about her last trip to New York. If she had her way, though, she’d make an annual pilgrimage to Las Vegas—drawn to the city’s sparkle, energy, and undeniable magic.
To her neighbours, Katerina offers a simple yet powerful message: “Be kind always.” She looks forward to more community initiatives—women’s meet-ups, neighbourhood watch programs, and opportunities for a deeper connection. And to the advertisers who bring this neighbourhood magazine to life, she extends her heartfelt thanks.
Katerina’s story is about passion, perseverance, and the joy of embracing life’s little moments. Whether through her work, her relationships, or the community she cherishes, she continues to create a life filled with beauty, warmth, and purpose. Katerina’s motto is – Be U!!
